Case #1
Cause Marketing
Client Objective:
To enhance its image through contributions to food banks in major metropolitan areas and to demonstrate leadership that would encourage other companies to make similar contributions.
Strategy:
Donations were planned in major metro markets, i.e. New York City, Washington, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, New Orleans to name a few. Two company contracted celebrity chefs were used to attract local media and political leaders. Appearances were arranged for celebrity chefs on AM TV News programs and newspapers ran both stories about the food donation program.
Result:
The Company benefited from TV and other media exposure that would have cost several million dollars to replicate with advertising. Food banks reported immediate increases in donations from both companies and individuals.
Case #2
Plant Closure
Because of a market downturn a major manufactured homes company was forced to close a plant that was the largest employer in a small southern town.
Client Objective:
Close the plant as humanely as possible and mitigate damage to brand.
Strategy:
Utilize political contacts to facilitate arrangements with State Employment Commission to create special job counseling and workshops to assist employees in acquiring new employment.
Result:
Local and state media carried the story of how the company worked to assist employees through the transition.
